We are constantly teasing Caitlin about her smiles for one particular doctor. Today Caitlin was fussing and Tim, Caitlin's dad, starting posing as a muscular "Mc Dreamy" by pulling up on his sweatshirt sleeves for big muscles and said, "Now if I was a McDreamy you wouldn't be doing that!" Caitlin just burst out laughing and couldn't stop. Next in walked, David Zucker, her pediatrician from birth through college days, and I said that he probably wouldn't get that smile that another doctor gets...but he did. His comment was that old farts weren't so bad. Caitlin once again had a great laugh. It is so nice to hear that laugh and see her eyes tear up as they always have when she laughs so hard!
A milestone today was that Caitlin's lungs are clear on two different chest X-rays so she was taken off a large dose of antibiotics. The splint to relax her left hand no longer needs to be worn. Her left hand is moving up and down and somewhat from side to side. She is moving her fingers on this hand very gracefully as if she could play the piano. That index finger on her left hand was used today to let me know that she wanted some water. Caitlin has been taking water from a spoon and today we did this five or six different times. That is a huge accomplishment!
We are calling all you McQueen Lancers to start cheering for Friday's game against Manogue. Caitlin's aunt brought a few Manogue decorations for her hospital room. I think we need to balance that out! Caitlin's cousin plays for Manogue so Aunt Debbie thinks that Caitlin can be converted! We are laughing about the upcoming antics of this week. Mal and Caitlin are making some McQ posters on Wednesday! Never know what will occur in room 448 of St. Mary's Hospital!!!!!

Caitlin I just wanted to write you a little note to let you know you are in my thoughts. It sounds like you are doing so good and that makes me so very happy :) I hear you and mal and josh are going to make some hella good MCQ posters on Wed, Caitlin don't go to the dark side " which would be the Manogue side" yes it is ok to cheer Keith on but you will always wear McQueen Blue.Well dear Caitlin it is time for me to go to bed so I will say goodnight and I love you, keep up your fighting spirit. Caitlin - You are ALIVE & WELL! LAUGHTER certainly is some of the BEST MEDICINE. Keep that joyful heart and wonderful courageous spirit working daily toward full recovery.
caitlin I want you to know that even on my day off you are in my thouhgts.I will keep praying for you and you will keep on fighting because that is you.I miss your smile everytime we talked about the cutest male nurses,PT's and Doctors.I feel lucky being given the chance to take care of you and meet you because I can tell how wonderful you are.you are so beutiful inside and out and I know that God has more something for you to do in life so keep on fighting.I will keep praying for you.
OK OK, I feel outnumbered!! The Lancers are fine, but Blood is thicker that water, right Caitlin?? I don't think any of the Lancers will try to score a touchdown for you. Listen to the radio, you may even hear a Caitlin shout out!! 920am - 7pm Friday!!
