Caitlin is ready for Thanksgiving! She had her first shower today...after two weeks of sponge baths just imagine how good that felt! Did you know that they make wheelchairs that can get completely wet? It was quite a process but Caitlin stayed strong during the whole shower. She looks sparkly clean and ready for her company tomorrow. Her walls are not only decorated with Manogue and McQ banners but also with a three foot tall turkey that her colleagues from Sierra Eye Associates made. They are just an amazing bunch of people. They each took a turkey feather and decorated it for Caitlin with love notes and pictures. The turkey will be a big hit tomorrow as the relatives arrive in town! Caitlin got a new much more comfortable bed today. It has a greater amount of air flow through the mattress to keep her dry, not sweaty, and comfy. So she will definitely look like a princess lying there to greet her visitors.
We are so very, very thankful for the love everyone shows us each day. Enjoy your holiday with family and friends!

Happy Thanksgiving dear Caitlin and family. I know you will enjoy your time being together.
Love, Patty
Gobble, Gobble, soon you will gobble too! Happy Thanksgiving sweet Caitlin! Matt, Sam, Josh, Grandma, Maddy, and I are sure now that you will win the race to the finish line. Each day we read about how hard you try, and we are SO PROUD OF YOU!!!
Happy Thanksgiving. We have so very much to be thankful for, including your daily progress. You are ever present in our minds and were included in our Thanksgiving dinner prayer. Daughter Gina and granddaughter Amanda are celebrating with us. Tomorrow we venture to Shark Valley with is a slough shaped like a shark, but no sharks inhabit the reserve. It is my MOST FAVORITE place in Florida. If we had known about it at the time of Ted and Martin's visit, it surely would have been on the "TO DO" list. However, the weather really does need to be cool to appreciate it and Ted & Martin were here in July. In cool weather, the alligators come out of the Everglades and rest and heat themselves on the sides of the 15 mile paved bike loop. Audbuon members from all over the world travel to Shark Valley to see the Bitterns, Anhingas, Cormorants, Blue Heron, White Heron, Snowy Egrets, et al. Fabulous weather here, too. After you complete your recovery, we would love you to join us on an adventure to Shark Valley. Walking or biking beside a large alligator 12 feet away is an awesome feeling! We'll tell you more tomorrow as we walk off the numerous calories consumed today. More important than turkey is the love of friends and family. I know you are surrounded by them all - even here from afar and that you are counting YOUR many blessings today, as well. I'm sorry that you are going through such challenging times, but pray that you are feeding the LOVE and positive energy sent to you each moment of each day. With lots of love, gentle hugs and get well wishes, Cousin Monica, Mike, Gina & Amanda
Caitlin thought about you lots today (as usual) and am so thankful that you continue to show progress each and every day and that you received a more comfortable bed and a shower that I am sure was wonderful. We all love you so much and send all our love your way.Hugs and kisses.
Dear Caitlin, Kathy, et al. Shark Valley was wonderful and we have another busy day planned for today. I wanted to send you a photo from Shark Valley (which is NOT shaped like a shark, as my mis-informed earlier post stated) but feeds into the Shark River. Nonetheless, we saw MANY alligators and fantastic birds and wildlife. We look forward to taking you there when you come to visit us in a cool winter month. I hope to hear some good news from your end. I know you are busy with family and I pray all is still progressing in the right direction. Love, Cousin Monica & Mike
One more quick photo for you of Monica, Linda Lee and Marianne taken on Linda Lee's 50th birthday. Still sending good energy, positive forces and powerful prayers your way through these busy holidays. Lots of Love, Cousin Monica
